From the semi-flooded limestone labyrinth of Rio Secreto — a 38km underground river system carved beneath the jungles of the Riviera Maya, Mexico.

Canvas of Stone: Underworld is a photographic exploration of what light does when it has to fight to exist. Here, in The Cathedral, mineral-rich water has built draperies of stone over millennia, while a single shaft of light from the jungle above turns limestone into gold.
